PS7000C MKll  & PS5000C MKll

Konica Minolta - Digital Book Scanner

Introducing the new and improved Konica Minolta Book Scanner Series, an 18" x 24" full-color face-up book scanner – the PS7000C MKII, and an 11" x 17" full-color face-up book scanner– the PS5000C MKII. These digital book scanners are designed to serve the digitization needs of any user who requires to scan, save, share, or print the contents of books, magazines, scientific manuals, maps, historical materials, artwork and 3-D objects. They support Windows® 2000, Windows® XP, Windows® Vista and Windows® 7* (32-bit) environments with faster scan speeds of 7.0 sec. or less and resolution up to 600 dpi.

Both the PS7000C MKII and PS5000C MKII feature all the basic functions of a face-up book scanner. The standard functions of spread, single left, single right, split scan modes make it easy to scan any material. With their face-up scanning capability, they protect the binding and spine of fragile or archival materials. The built-in Book Cradle adds flexibility in scanning any material. The book cradle features three mobile parts: left, right and the center sections. While the left or right side moves down under the thicker side of the material, the center section can also be pressed down independently to create a leveled surface and to protect the spine. These book scanners also feature an intuitive and easy-to-use Control Panel which provides further flexibility to allow the user to make the necessary scan control selections on the spot. The backlit LCD panel makes it easy to see the scan controls. Images can be sent directly to either a printer or PC with a single button.

These enhanced book scanners now feature improved fine line reproduction for sharp images while keeping the optical resolution constant. In addition, they offer even density throughout the scanned image for better image quality. Also, both the PS7000C MKII and PS5000C MKII support ICC profiles in addition to their 24-bit color and 8-bit grayscale reproduction.

The PS7000C MKII (optional) and PS5000C MKII (standard) offer a Glass Plate Unit that helps to press down originals to be scanned for better image quality. Its non-glare nature makes it possible to re-create scanned images as vibrant as its original. They also offer an optional Glass Plate Switch Kit that provides an automated and easier scanning process. The switch kit mechanism allows scanning of the originals automatically every time the Glass Plate Unit is pushed down. These devices also feature an optional Manual Switch which allow them to scan the materials easier with a push of a button, without the additional step of re‑accessing the scan driver or the application software to start the scan action. This is ideal to speed up the scan process for heavy traffic environments.
